Totals & Titles
Have you
ever gone hunting for your handy-dandy mini calculator only to drop it on the
floor and spend the next five minutes crawling under the table to pick up the
stupid batteries…only to discover the tiny “AAA” rolling suckers are deader
than a door nail? Well I have. Usually I have an array of spare batteries but…not
this time. Frustrated to no end I trudged over to my computer and plopped
myself down. OMG! I totally forgot, there’s a calculator right at my fingertips
in my computer and batteries are not required!
How to Access Your Computers
Calculator:
Go to Start-All
Programs-Accessories-Calculator and click, to utilize the calculator. (Example 1)
To operate this calculator you can use the
ten-key-pad on your computer’s keyboard, or simply use your mouse and click on
the mini computers numbered squares.
Adding and subtracting is pretty straight
forward however to multiply you must use the “*” key and to divide you must use
the “/ “ key. When using your keyboard the
“Enter” key is your ‘Total” button and thank goodness on the mini computer it
actually has an “Equal” and “Clear” key. To clear the total when using your
ten-key pad, use the “Delete” option.
Utilizing my computers calculator is more
convenient than I ever expected and bottom line; I always know where it is.
Now that you know where to find your computers’ calculator, keep it handy to balance your checkbook or work out a Christmas budget!
This is off topic but recently I’ve been
asked how to change the name of a file or folder and I want to share this
information with you.
How to Rename a File or
Folder:
Pick the file or folder you
would like to re-name. (Do not open it.) Right click on the title and choose “Rename”.
(Example
2)
Tip:
You can’t have two files in the same folder with the same name and you can’t
rename a file that is open. Okay now type in the new title and press enter.
Done deal!
